Bio

I started life in England and moved to the Bay Area almost 20 years ago in order to pursue a creative life of fine art, music and transformative studies. In 2000, I discovered JFK University and did my MA in Consciousness Studies, pulling together all my creative and academic interests. When I moved to the Bay Area I actively explored Consciousness through Music, Art & Contemplation, using the tools of  Songwriting, Collaboration & Performance.

A large part of my exploration has been focused on the human capacity for intimacy and deep relationship and its resistance towards the same – including my own! Within this, I continue to examine;

  • The underlying power within the structure of sound – and its universality.
  • The use of Sound, Song and Resonance as a tool for creating healing through expression and connection – ‘Voice Presence’.
  • The ability to actively dream our lives into being through sincere questioning and passionate, authentic, creativity – ‘Dynamic Emergence’ & ‘Living In Your Center’.

In my explorations, I have created songs, artwork and writings along with caring networks of people interested in the same.  My intention is to help us improve our soul presence in the world and become stewards for peace. To this end I founded and ran a monthly musical evening for a year ‘Offerings’ in which people from all genres of music came to present and perform @ Grace North Church, Berkeley, CA, around their sacred relationship to music, thereby building community between musicians and audience, audience and audience.  And, more recently, I started a community sound group in Glastonbury, England ‘Sound Into Spirit’ for explorations on how we can use sound to connect us to ourselves, each other and Spirit. For many years I also enjoyed a long association with the Oakland Childrens’ Hospital, using music and personal presence as a spiritual healing tool.

I am a deeply explorative musician, singer/songwriter and academician, with a number of CDs and collaborations to date, performing both locally and abroad. I have taught classes privately and @ Globe Recording, San Francisco, CA, on ‘Transformation Through Sound Awareness’, ‘Voice & Personal Presence’, ‘Music Theory’, ‘Energy Healing & Chakra Balancing’ and ‘Sound, Nature and Consciousness’ and am adjunct faculty at San Francisco State University, teaching ‘Creativity & Innovation’ to Business & Management students.

A graduate of Light Body Work, Emotional Body Balancing and Reiki I and II, I have a further background in various healing arts, including creative visualization, guided meditation, painting, sculpture, spiritual and psychic development: and am a psychic intuitive, which I use both musically (clairaudience/clairsentience) and in private consultations. I perform ritual and ceremonial singing at private and public functions, and, as a healer, I work both in the  SF/Bay Area as well as in Spain and England.

My training and research have been cross-platform and cross-cultural, allowing me to experience the link between the visual realms of Fine Art and the emotional realms of sound and expression. I trained formally and informally, crossing paths with various Bay Area music & consciousness guides, such as Rhiannon, Peter Apfelbaum, Pat Moffit Cook, Don Estes and Randy Masters, and have also run my own recording studio and teaching facility, Sound Music Studios, for twelve years, helping people not only to record, but to develop a real sense of ‘self’ through their music.

I have a deep love of life, that I hope is positively contagious and understand that life is a series of sometimes difficult choices that reflect how we see ourselves. My meditation is on living up to my full creative and heart-based capacity… I wonder if we all are really ‘showing up’ in the fullest way available to us at any given moment and feel it is time to begin that very personal dialogue, to engage… and find out what amazing life experiences might be possible if we claim full access to our potential. Sound and the simplicity of shared personal exploration can help us do all of that, if we are willing to let it in and let it out.

I currently live in both the San Francisco Bay Area and in Glastonbury, Somerset, UK.

Thank you.
